My Bio
There was a time in my life when I thought I invented the 'Selfie',
only to realise that the first documented selfie was captured in 1839 by a photographer named
Robert Cornelius.
I remember my first camera vividly, an Instant Polaroid 636 CL Compact Camera. I had to be very selective with the images I produced because it only had 10 cartridges in a pack, and I couldn't afford to purchase more than one pack every other month.
My early photographs were random self-portraits and some of family and pets.
This was before I knew anything about lighting or composition.
Fast forward 28 years later, and the majority of my portraits still feature myself as the subject, and I'm still learning about composition.
I relish the freedom of exploration, yet I'm also introverted, so venturing out with strangers intimidates me. Nevertheless, it's proven to be excellent therapy, pushing me far beyond my safe bubble, also known as my comfort zone.
Through these experiences, I've learned that true growth lies in embracing discomfort. Each time I step outside my comfort zone, whether it's interacting with new people or experimenting with unfamiliar techniques, I discover something new about myself and my craft. It's these moments of challenge and growth that have shaped me into the skilled photographer I am today, constantly evolving and pushing the boundaries of my artistry.
